 What is MiCareerQuest Southeast?

Health Sciences, Construction, Information Technology, Advanced Manufacturing

MiCareerQuest Southeast, the region's largest interactive career exploration event for high school students, is coming this fall. It promises to expose students to a broad range of exciting, rewarding career opportunities as they prepare for their futures!

Thousands of high school students from Oakland, Macomb, Monroe, Wayne, Washtenaw and Livingston counties will be meeting with working professionals who have built successful careers in a variety of fields. In addition, young people will have the opportunity to touch, feel and work with the equipment, tools and technology used by people every day in a broad range of in-demand jobs.

The goal is to connect classroom learning with real-world jobs and their requirements. Students also will discover engaging workplace opportunities, such as internships, job shadowing and more.

Thank You!

The first MiCareerQuest Southeast on November 28 was a huge success. Oakland County Michigan Works!, the other regional Michigan Works! offices involved in planning MiCareerQuest Southeast, Oakland County Department of Economic Development & Community Affairs, Michigan Talent Investment Agency, our Platinum and other major sponsors would like to thank the 7.000 students and chaperones, 114 exhibitor teams, 220 volunteers and 200 special guests for making the day truly memorable.

Our goal was to present young people with a glimpse of all the in-demand career opportunities for them to consider as they plan their futures and we accomplished that tenfold.  82% of the students surveyed after the event said they learned about employment and education/training opportunities that they did not know even existed.  Nearly three-quarters of them said the event will help them make plans for their education after they graduate from high school.
