Manufacturing Day in Oakland County is a celebration of modern manufacturing - an opportunity for students to get a firsthand look at what today’s engineers, technicians and other staff do each day at advanced manufacturing facilities across the region.
This year’s event takes place on Friday, October 5, 2018. Companies across the county will open their doors to students, teachers and counselors to highlight the technologies and careers in the new world of advanced manufacturing. Students from the County’s four Oakland Schools Technical Campuses and local high schools will tour more than 20 leading manufacturers in the region for a close look at their operations.
Manufacturing Day is a great opportunity to explore many career options, plus hear directly from working professionals about what they do and the skills needed. The goal is to inspire our next generation of workers to explore advanced manufacturing here in Detroit. This is the fourth time Oakland County has participated in the event, which grows bigger every year.
