Oakland County’s Local Gem Sweepstake has ended

We are no longer accepting entries. Submissions ended November 26, 2022 at 11:59 p.m.

Genisys Credit Union sponsored the Local Gem Sweepstake prize money.

A small business is defined for this program as an independently owned and operated, legal, brick and mortar business. Each business you submit must be different.

INTRODUCTION

Utilize Oakland County's Small Business Saturday Campaign to build visibility and foot traffic for the small businesses in your community during the holiday shopping season. Also, you can send us your community's holiday event and activities to list on the OakGov.com/ShopSmall landing page.

ENCOURAGE YOUR BUSINESSES TO ENTER THEMSELVES INTO “LOCAL GEMS” SWEEPSTAKE

They can submit a selfie taken of their Oakland County small business and complete an Entry Form for the “Local Gems” Sweepstake.

1st Prize: $1,000 | 2nd Prize: $500

The sweepstake ends on Small Business Saturday, 11:59 PM ET, November 26, 2022.

They can only enter their business one time. However, the closer to November 1 that they enter, the more promotional exposure they will receive from the county, including mention on OakGov.com/ShopSmall.

Original photo should be of the inside or outside of their small business in Oakland County.
A small business is defined for this program as an independently owned and operated, legal, brick and mortar business.
A person does not have to be in the photo.
Sweepstake participants must be 18 years or older at the time of entry deadline.

Winners are determined by a random drawing and notified by December 5, 2002. The check is presented at an in-person event on December 15, 2022.

Genisys Credit Union is sponsoring the sweepstake and providing the prize money.

You can print and use any of these materials produced by Oakland County:

Poster Size: 11” x 17”

Sweepstake Flyer

Shoper Card Size: 8-1/2” x 11”

Encourage the business to customize the back of the Sweepstake Card or Flyer to promote their business.

YOU ARE ELIGIBLE TO WIN

Yes, YOU can submit selfies of your community’s Oakland County small businesses and complete an Entry Form for the “Local Gems” Sweepstake to win up to $1,000.

You can only enter a particular business once. However, you can enter multiple, different businesses to increase your odds of winning.

Retail Contest

Help your small businesses maximize visibility and generate more foot traffic during the Shopper Contest by registering. When retailers register online, they are automatically entered for a chance to win $1,000, thanks to CEED Lending.

Small Business Employee Contest

When the winning receipt is pulled for the Shopper Contest, Oakland County will check the employee identification on the receipt. That employee will win $500. We hope this contest creates an incentive for employees to encourage their customers to enter the Shopper Contest.
