Main Street Awards

Main Street Award Nomination Form

Main Street Oakland County Awards

2020 marks the 20th Anniversary of the Main Street Oakland County program. This year, the Main Event
will encompass the past two decades of Main Street successes.

Each community has had impactful people, projects or events that have shaped their downtown over that time. Whether it be the individual who leads the charge to becoming a Main Street, the saving of a historic building that the community rallied behind, an event that grew from 10 attendees to 1,000, or a development that improved the long term economic outlook of the downtown.

Winning an MSOC award adds prestige to your downtown and allows your community to take a bow and highlights the value of the work being done.

Volunteers are Essential to Keeping Community Downtowns Vibrant

2018 Volunteer of the Year Winner and Testimonial

2018 Volunteer of the YearMain Street Oakland County Team,

It's been a bit of a whirlwind since the Main Street Oakland County Award Show last week in Downtown Pontiac.
I just wanted to thank you for hosting such a spirited event.

It was a very unexpected honor to be awarded Volunteer of the Year. Main Street Oakland County is an important economic development program and it has been an excellent partner for promoting vibrancy in Downtown Farmington.

I'm just one of many volunteers who help make Downtown Farmington one of Oakland County's Main Street destinations. The selfless contributions of our volunteers have helped preserve our heritage and position us for the type of growth that is consistent with our character.

I'm personally thrilled that our volunteers have also worked hard to raise our profile throughout Oakland County and Metro Detroit. More people are coming to our Farmers Market, events, restaurants, shops and movie theater. Additionally, we've seen increased development. And it takes everyone working together to make it all possible. To that end, I feel like I am accepting the award on behalf of all of our volunteers.

I look forward to continuing to work with you all.

Thank you,
Chris Halas
