Executive Vice President & Chief Sales Officer
Yasser Khan, a top IBM sales executive, serves as Executive in Residence at Eastern Michigan University.
As Executive Director of EMU's Sales Management Institute, he works closely with corporations looking to recruit EMU students & alumni and teaches MBA courses in Sales Management & Customer Relationship Management.
Yasser led EMU's inaugural fundraising effort for the sales program, securing corporate sponsorship from Quicken Loans, Inc.
He also serves as head coach of the EMU Eagles, in sales competitions throughout the country, and supports the EMU football program in recruiting future Division 1 student-athletes.
Yasser has served in a variety of sales and sales management positions at IBM, including Executive Vice President & Chief Sales Officer at IBM Miraclesoft, and received the IBM Eminence & Excellence award as the top IBM sales representative in the United States.
Prior to joining IBM, he held a series of Fortune 500 roles in sales, marketing, and business development across the United States, Europe, and Asia.
He is the lead author of the University of Michigan-published case study "Pioneering the Inside Sales Revolution" on the groundbreaking work of his mentor, E. Follett Carter, as Executive Vice President of Sales at Gartner, Inc.
Yasser serves on the Board of Directors of the March of Dimes, Founders Junior Council at the Detroit Institute of Arts, Eastern Michigan University's College of Business, and the Oakland County Business Roundtable.
He received a BA in economics from Florida State University and an MBA from the University of Michigan's Ross School of Business, where he served as President of the Wolverine Sales Club.
Yasser is the eldest of Dr. Hanif & Mrs. Roohi Khan's three children and resides in Novi, MI with his wife, Rania, and their sons, Sarfraz and Arslan.
