Anjan Kumar

Anjan Kumar, M.D., is a quadruple board certified physician in internal medicine, pulmonary medicine, critical care and neurocritical care. He received his medical degree, graduating Cum Laude, from the University of Debrecen School of Medicine & Health Science Center in Debrecen, Hungary.

Before graduation, he spent a year at New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York, completing the fifth pathway Clinical Internship program. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Beaumont Health - Oakwood Hospital & Medical Center in Dearborn. He subsequently completed an additional year as Chief Resident at Beaumont and completed his fellowship in neurocritical care at the University of Miami � Jackson Memorial Hospital.

Dr. Kumar went on to further specialize by doing a pulmonary medicine fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Weston, Florida, and completing his Critical Care Medicine fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio. Special interests include neurotrauma, traumatic brain injury, multimodality monitoring, critical care ultrasound, endobronchial ultrasound for lung cancer staging and pulmonary hypertension.

Dr. Kumar practices primarily at St. John Hospital & Medical Center and is on staff at a number of other hospitals in the area. He is currently on a number of ICU Hospital Committees, and is participating in developing Saint John Hospital & Medical Center as a leading comprehensive stoke center in the metro Detroit area. Dr. Kumar is an advisory board member Michigan Physicians Society. He is a member of the Society of Physician Entrepreneurs (SOPE) and a chapter leader for SOPE-Detroit, which empowers physicians and other professionals to innovate health care through entrepreneurship.

In his free time Dr. Kumar loves to spend time with his wife, and two children. He is an avid traveler, and enjoys running, cross-fit training, trying new foods, spending time with family and friends, meeting new people and enjoying life.
