As the Downtown Development Authority Executive Director for Lake Orion, Suzanne Perreault has been involved in many community projects. They include a streetscape and park improvement, the construction of a parking lot, a number of place making projects and annual beautification efforts. Main Street Oakland County has recognized the Lake Orion DDA with a number of special recognition including Outstanding Public Investment (2012), Outstanding Public Relations Effort (2013), Outstanding Public Private Partnership (2014), and Outstanding Historic Building Advocacy (2015). Main Street Oakland County also recognized her in 2009 with its "Guts and Determination Award." Perreault had a direct hand in the leasing of DDA-owned property to an entrepreneur who renovated an underutilized property and opened a brewery. The new business resulted in job creation, private investment and a downtown restaurant added to the tax base. She helped facilitate many community partnerships including those with the Lake Orion Community Schools, Orion Historical Society and Paint Creek Trail Commission. She volunteered during the annual Christmas parade, and with both Real Talk and Challenge Day – programs that engage teens during the school year through the North Oakland Community Coalition. She is a graduate of Central Michigan University.
