Michelle Elder is
an economic development professional with more than 11 years’ experience in the
private and public sector. She is the business development manager at the
Michigan Economic Development Corporation, with a focus on the Oakland County.
She develops strong relationships with private-sector leaders, local
governments, nonprofits and communities with the mission of creating more and
better jobs in Michigan. She led business expansion projects that fostered
multimillion dollar capital investments and added over 3,500 new jobs from the
private sector. Elder serves as a member of the alumni board of governors for the
University of Michigan's Taubman College of Architecture & Urban Planning.
She is a certified Economic Development Finance Professional and a graduate of
Leadership Detroit Class of XXXIV. She earned her undergraduate and graduate
degrees from the University of Michigan, as well as a master certificate of
real estate development.
