Assistant City Manager
City of Hazel Park
Jeffery Campbell is the assistant city manager for Hazel Park, which includes management of city six departments. He is an integral part of the city's renaissance, helping to recruit and assist new businesses and earning Hazel Park recognition as the "hip" place to be by publications including Metromode, Crain's Detroit Business and The Oakland Press. Campbell created Land CURE, a 501(c)(3), to acquire tax delinquent properties, rehabilitate them and sell them to owner-occupants. As volunteer director of the organization, he works to improve Hazel Park's housing stock and stabilize neighborhoods. Campbell, with the help from FEMA and Oakland County, organized relief efforts for residents and the city after the disastrous flood of 2014 and helping obtain financial assistance those in need. FEMA was effusive in its praise for Campbell's efforts, for which he received a commendation from the City Council.
Campbell is a member of Leadership Detroit and the Class of XXXVII. He earned his bachelor's degree from Central Michigan University, a master's degree in urban planning as well as a law degree from Wayne State University and a Certificate of Public Management from Saginaw Valley State University.
