Tara A. Beatty, 35
Mayor's Chief Assistant of Marketing & Communications
City of Rochester Hills
Tara is chief assistant of marketing & communications for Rochester Hills Mayor Bryan Barnett. Her passion for finding innovative and creative ways to improve service delivery inspired her to initiate the development of the city’s first mobile app. Launched in March 2014, the app allows residents to report road concerns at the touch of a button. To date there are over 4,000 downloads and it earned Rochester Hills the recent distinction as “One of the Top 10 Best Places” to live by Money magazine.
As a proactive community member, Tara is involved in multiple organizations around her community such as the Clinton River Watershed Council, where she serves as board member and vice chair. She played a vital role in raising the awareness and necessity of protecting the Clinton River. In efforts to protect and enhance the river, she partnered with over two dozen local breweries and wineries to launch Crafts on the Clinton, an event that raised nearly $20,000.
Tara is co-chair at Raising Rochester, a non-profit organization that provides and supports efforts to improve the physical, emotional, social and educational well-being of people of all ages in the Rochester area. Since 2010, she has also been a member of Rochester Hills Museum Foundation, where she helped establish the Rochester Hills Museum Foundation and raise over $800,000 in private funding.
Tara received her bachelor’s degree in advertising and marketing from Columbia Southern University. After completing the Leadership Greater Rochester Program, she was recognized as the Regional Young Professional of the Year in 2013, by the Rochester Regional Chamber of Commerce.
