Paul Mersino is an attorney at Butzel Long where his work in commercial litigation gained him recognition on the Michigan Super Lawyers Rising Star list for the past three years. His success has resulted in his rapid advancement to shareholder status in the firm.
Active in his children's school, community, and church, Paul takes advantage of opportunities to give back. Paul advises startup companies and a venture capital fund, helping shape the future of our region with fresh ideas, employment opportunities and expanded economic impact. For a number of years he oversaw the firm’s annual pro bono clinic in conjunction with the Legal Aid and Defender Association.
He is a member of the Board of Advisors for the Institute of Continuing Legal Education's Litigation Advisory Board, the American Inns of Court and other honorary organizations within the legal industry. Paul is vice president and will soon be 2015 president of the Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association, Barrister's Section where he will oversee committees that sponsor community service projects, raise funds for worthy causes, and educational and networking opportunities for new lawyers. He was a participant at Leadership Oakland XXV in 2014. Paul received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Northwood University and his juris doctorate from Ave Maria School of Law.
