Art Therapist, Artist
Molly Murphy Landis, ATR
As an art therapist, Molly provides therapeutic art projects and support in hospitals in Oakland, Macomb and Wayne counties for adults, children and families. Additionally, Molly plans and implements visual arts curriculum and residencies within K-12 and post-high school classrooms for students with and without disabilities. She works closely with teachers and school administrators to provide site-specific and ongoing inclusive arts strategies.
Studio 1, an outreach arts program Molly created and administers at the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center, enables access to arts education and exhibitions to more than 20 human service organizations in metro Detroit. Each uniquely individualized program provides access to the arts for people with disabilities, at-risk youth and families, seniors with cognitive or physical impairments, and healing arts special interest groups.
Molly was a finalist for the MI Great Artist competition in 2012, and won third place for her “Portraits” piece at the Anton Art Center in 2013. She has had several curated exhibitions at the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center, and has been in publications such as The Oakland Press and HOUR Detroit Magazine.
