In 2008, Jake quit his job to start Livio from the guest bedroom of his home, and has quickly grown the business into a successful consumer electronics company. Livio launched seven products and raised millions of venture capital funding in its first year. In 2010, the company launched a suite of software solutions geared towards getting smartphone apps safely into the cars, this technology made its first appearance in the 2014 Chevy Spark and Sonic.
Under Jake's leadership, Livio has become an award-winning company, netting honors including the 2013 Bronze Edison Award, the 2011 Michigan Economic Bright Spot Award, and was named one of Michigan's 50 Companies to Watch and Entrepreneur Magazine's 100 Companies to Watch in 2012.
In 2012, Jake received the Automation Alley Entrepreneur of the Year Award, and has been recognized by DBusiness's "30 in Their 30s" (2012), and Crain's Detroit Business "20 in Their 20s" (2010). He's the youngest member of the Consumer Electronics Association's Board of Industry Leaders, and currently sits on both the CEA's Small Business Council and the Board of Advisors for Ohio University's Russ College of Engineering.
