In less than three years at the Detroit News, Ingrid Jacques has moved from editorial writer to columnist, one of the only three conservative female columnists in Michigan, and manager of the daily operation of the News' editorial pages. She is the first woman to hold the position of Deputy Editorial Page Editor in the newspaper's history.
In recent months, Ingrid has been a major contributor to The Detroit News' coverage of the ongoing Detroit bankruptcy proceedings. She orchestrated two parts of the editorial series that are included in The News' Pulitzer Prize nomination this year. Ingrid spent six years as a journalism lecturer and newspaper advisor at Hillsdale College, and continues to mentor many former journalism students.
Ingrid received a fellowship in 2013 to attend, Grading the Teachers, a Specialized Reporting Institute.
In 2008, her writing for The Jackson Citizen Patriot was part of a package that won a second-place prize from the Michigan Press Association.
