Kiesha Speech
Kiesha Speech is a driven community leader, dedicated to improving the community around her. Her professional experiences include current work in government administration, as well as previous corporate and non-profit employment, where she has filled several roles. She is an avid networker and strives to build relationships that can benefit others around her. 

Kiesha prides herself on having a "spirit of excellence" and believes wholeheartedly in "servant leadership."  She has had a long-standing interest in politics and community advocacy, and continues to stay active on various levels. In November 2011, she was elected to a 5-year term as a Trustee to the Oak Park School Board. She also serves on the Executive Board of the National Congress of Black Women - Oakland County Chapter, is a founding member of the Greater Southfield/Farmington Branch of the NAACP, is past-Vice President & Membership Chair of the Oakland County Employment Diversity Council, and also serves as a faithful member at her church and in several other community organizations.  

 

As a Certified Workforce Development Professional (CWDP), Kiesha is dedicated to helping the unemployed and underemployed in Oakland County to meet the goal of successful, long-term employment. She graduated with a B.A. in Political Science from Randolph-Macon Woman's College in 2000, where she first gained a passion for service and leadership. In May of 2013 she will earn a Master of Public Administration (MPA) Degree from Central Michigan University, completing another educational goal. Kiesha is also a graduate of Leadership Oakland XXII, the best class ever.
 
Kiesha thoroughly enjoys motivating and preparing the next generation and is invested in engaging Michigan's youth. In 2011, she founded "Future Focused," an organization that has its mission toward helping youth and young adults aging out of the Foster Care System. Through the program, individuals who are affected by the Foster Care System, learn to focus on their future and prepare for success in life. The organization's goals are to "encourage, educate, enrich, equip, & empower" every participant through interactive workshops & educational seminars, as well as motivational social activities and exposure to leading professionals and emerging careers. Services include future navigation/coaching, training seminars, conferences and mentoring.
 
Kiesha firmly believes that women and minorities can benefit from learning how they can use their unique experiences, accomplishments, skills, and networks to their advantage, strategizing to meet their ultimate goals. She encourages social networking and making connections with  groups and individuals. She is personally and professionally active on social media, and welcomes invitations to connect and tap into her network.
