Chris McCuistonBackground
Chris McCuiston has had a successful financial and business background. His entrepreneurial spirit, leadership skills, and experience in the business world led him to team up with Jenny in opening up Goldfish Swim School. Chris is extremely instrumental in handling the business and financial matters for the swim school. Chris has many attributes that he brings to the business that ensures the school's success. Chris' work ethic and perseverance have proved to be very effective in the business world.

He earned a BA in Finance from Michigan State University in 2002. His previous job, as a sales representative for Copper and Brass Sales, a division of Thyssen Krupp International, which had $600 million in annual sales for the 2004 fiscal year, provided Chris with the necessary sales training needed for success in the business world. Chris is also a former financial consultant with Sagemark Consulting, a division of Lincoln Financial Advisors. During that time he advised many business owners on high end estate and business succession planning. In addition to being a dynamic businessman, Chris has an extensive background in athletics. While playing baseball at Michigan State, he was named team captain, and he was chosen as the MVP and offensive player of the year in 2002. Current Position
Since opening a mere 6 years ago, Chris McCuiston (age 32), co-founder of Goldfish Swim School and Goldfish Swim School Franchising, has grown his business from 1 location in Birmingham with over 2,500 students/week to 8 locations and well over 8,000 student/week, with close to 200 employees and more than $4,000,000 in annual revenue.
Chris's vision extends beyond making money, including a relentless investment in his customers, our community and his employees.  This focus has lead Goldfish to be a profitable business like no other in its space, and has proven that Chris is an expert in business development.  By developing and inspiring a top-notch business team, and providing ownership opportunities under a franchising arrangement, there are now 6 Goldfish locations in Michigan, with 7 planned to open throughout the Midwest by the beginning of 2013 - all within 6 years of opening.

Chris has positioned Goldfish with a competitive advantage by developing a proprietary swim curriculum, utilizing an efficient computer based scheduling system, investing in his building infrastructure, and most of all, establishing an intense customer focus - which is our families.  This has established a successful business model for Goldfish, and rewarding environment for young developing swimmers.
One step inside Goldfish will prove that Chris knows how to build and operate a successful organization with families and community in mind.  I suspect that we will see more community based business models under Chris's development in the future.
