Oakland County keeps residents safe from crime, ensures that all people are treated fairly by the criminal justice system, and helps put offenders on the path to productive lives.

 Community Objectives

To measure progress toward our Public Safety and Fairness in the Criminal Justice System goal, we will:

  • Lower Crime Rate, as measured by the number of violent and property crimes.
  • Prevent Hate Crimes, as measured by the number of crimes motivated by prejudice based on race, gender and gender identity, religion, disability, sexual orientation or ethnicity.
  • Reduce the Likelihood of Juveniles Reentering the System, as measured by the percentage of juveniles released from Children’s Village who are no longer assessed as “high risk” for engaging in criminal behavior.
