Making sure a diverse array of suppliers has access to business opportunities has been the focus of Karmell Thomas' career.

As the Senior Manager of Supplier Diversity at Eaton, Thomas is making sure that the unique and innovative perspectives of diverse suppliers have access to Eaton's supply chain. Those efforts have resulted in as much as $1.9 billion being spent by Eaton with small companies owned by women, minorities, veterans, the disabled and members of the LGBTQ community.

Karmell earned bachelor's and master's degrees from Wayne State University. She is a board member at the Louis Stokes Alliance of Minority Participation, an organization that seeks to increase minority populations successfully completing science, technology, engineering and math programs in higher education. She also serves on the Martin Luther King Task Force in Southfield and sits on the board of the Michigan Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

Thomas lives in Troy with her husband and two children.
