Director of Programs
Michigan Humanities Council

A self-described "museum nerd," Ashley Ross has dedicated her life to civic engagement. As the Director of Programs at the Michigan Humanities Council, Ross oversees humanities programs throughout the state.

Previously, she was the manager of curatorial affairs for the Ruth Mott Foundation and Curator for the Flint Institute of Arts. She received bachelor's and master's degrees in Anthropology from Oakland University and Wayne State University respectively.

In addition, Ross decided to dive into local politics in 2020, winning a seat on the Oxford Village Council to bring more equitable practices to her community and help bridge the contentious political climate that dominated the 2020 elections.

She also has served on the National Gender Equity in Museums Movement Steering Committee and is an active volunteer with the Michigan Museums Association.

Ross and her family live in Oxford.
