At the age of 29, Mari Manoogian is the youngest serving member of the Michigan House of Representatives and the only Armenian American woman to serve in the legislature.

She is serving her second term in the House and has led on issues ranging from accountability for power outages on the House Energy Committee to passing distracted driving laws and attracting direct investment to Oakland County.

Before being elected to office, Manoogian served in various capacities of public service at the federal level, including interning for U.S. Rep. John D. Dingell, working with the Council on Foreign Relations, and assisting Ambassador Samantha Power at the U.S. Mission to the United Nations.

Manoogian also worked in the Offices of English Language Programs and Diplomacy at the U.S. Department of State

She earned both her bachelor's and master's degrees from George Washington University. Manoogian is a member of the Aspen Security Forum's inaugural Rising Leaders Program and is a Truman National Security Project partner. She serves on the board of the Armenian Genocide Education Council, the Tech for Campaigns Political Advisory Board, the advisory council for the U.S.-Europe Alliance, and the advisory committee for Figure Skating in Detroit. Manoogian lives in Birmingham.
