Scott Ruggles has taken his family farm – the Ruggles Ranch in White Lake Township - from 300 to 1,100 acres in a short period of time while diversifying the business at the same time.

He graduated with an agriculture business management degree from Michigan State University and was became a member of the Oakland County Farm Bureau Board of Directors at the age of 30.

Ruggles was elected to public office in 2012 as White Lake Township trustee and was appointed to White Lake Township Zoning Board of Appeals and the Wellhead Preservation Committee. He was reelected as a township trustee in 2016 and appointed to the Township's planning commission.

In addition to his full time job of developing and running his horse farm with more than 40 horses, Ruggles also operates two farm markets and a landscape supply business.
