Dr. Danielle Penson is a native of Detroit and a progressive byproduct of the Detroit public school system. An advocate for higher learning, Danielle graduated from Oakland University in 2003, receiving a bachelor's of arts degree in Communication, and later obtained her Master's Degree in Community and School Counseling from the University of Detroit and earned a doctorate in 2014.

In 2012 and 2017, she was received the Spirit of Detroit Award, bestowed for outstanding achievement and contribution to the city of Detroit. Over the past seventeen years, Penson has worked in the social service field focusing on youth and family development with extensive experience in program design, leadership, and community building.

Penson was initiated into Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority in 2002 where she collaborated with other female leaders to make positive change.

She has launched: L.O.V.E. (Ladies of Virtue and Excellence), which focuses on the spiritual formation of women; Good Grief, a therapeutic group for grieving individuals; F.L.Y. (Forever Love Yourself), GIRLS, a female mentoring program, and S.M.S. (Single, Married and Searching) which allows the entire body of Christ to fellowship through group sessions and community activities. She is also the owner of P.S. (Pretty and Saved, LLC), Women's Apparel and Christian Movement and Kaydense Galleria, a retail clothing establishment for women located in Royal Oak.

Penson currently resides in Oak Park with her husband and two daughters.
