Smita Mehta is the Community and Engagement Manager for Faurecia North America, where she leads a shift in corporate culture by spearheading campaigns for employee engagement, diversity and inclusion, community involvement and environmental sustainability.

A former Emmy-nominated television news journalist, Mehta's passion for recognizing minorities who are often unseen began from an early age when her own dreams of being a broadcast journalist came into question.

Mehta graduated from the University of Michigan with a double major in Economics and Communications, and received a Master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University.

Mehta's career in journalism took her from Rockford, Illinois to Grand Rapids and Detroit, where she covered the news and filled in on the anchor desk for WXYZ-TV. She moved into public relations and communications for COUNTRY Financial and later, for Faurecia.

Mehta lives in Rochester with her two young children. She enjoys traveling abroad with her family, camping, and cheering on the Maize and Blue.
