Nate Knapper is the Founder and CEO of The Joseph Project, a nonprofit organization that connects human trafficking survivors with pro bono legal counsel. He simultaneously serves as an FBI Special Agent, conducting international terrorism and human trafficking investigations on behalf of the Bureau's Detroit Field Office.

Prior to joining the FBI, Knapper served as an Assistant Attorney General at the Michigan Department of Attorney General in Lansing where he was a member of the Michigan Commission on Human Trafficking and the OK-2-SAY Student Safety Initiative. He is a member of the State Bars of California and Michigan.

Knapper is a graduate of Oakland Christian School in Auburn Hills, Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Pepperdine University School of Law in Malibu, California, the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution in Malibu and The FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia.

Though his professional background is diverse, Knapper's commitment to community, family and faith has remained constant. A 23-year resident of Clarkston, his deepest connections are those he shares with his family, including his parents, siblings, and young nieces and nephew. He is an active member of the Woodside Bible Church in Troy.
