Courtney Flynn Kissel is an attorney and a member in the Regulated Industries practice group at Dykema Gossett PLLC in Bloomfield Hills.

She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and her law degree from University of Wisconsin Law School.

Practicing law since 2010, Kissel's practice has been primarily focused on advising clients in highly regulated industries on complex legal issues, with a particular focus on state constitutional issues and appellate advocacy. In the past nine years of practice, she has worked on over thirty different appellate cases to the Michigan Court of Appeals and Michigan Supreme Court on issues ranging from insurance to energy and higher education.

Kissel has also been hired to advise state executive officials on a variety of issues. In Michigan, she has been appointed as a Special Assistant Attorney General on a number of regulatory issues. In addition, the State of Wisconsin and the State of Indiana both hired her to advise their respective Governors on various issues related to tribal gaming and the complicated jurisdictional issues that relate to tribal sovereignty for state governments.

She has been recognized by Michigan Super Lawyers as "a Rising Star"; an "Up and Coming" lawyer; and was the recipient of the 2015 Distinguished Brief Award from the Thomas M. Cooley Law Review. Kissel is a resident of Bloomfield Hills.
