Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources
Oakland Schools

Dandridge Floyd is an executive human resources professional with extensive diversity and inclusion experience and is currently the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources and Labor Relations for Oakland Schools, one of Michigan's largest intermediate school district, that provides services and resources to Oakland County's 28 public school districts.

A major function of her role is to ensure students receive high quality instruction. This has become increasingly difficult as Oakland County had over 100 unfilled classrooms last year due to a nationwide teacher shortage.

In collaboration with Wayne State University, Michigan Department of Education and labor, Floyd is spearheading Oakland County Dream Keepers, a paid accelerated pathway for individuals to earn a master's degree and teaching certificate with an opportunity to transition into a full time teaching position in participating districts.

The novelty of Dream Keepers is its capacity to attract professionals who wouldn't ordinarily consider a teaching career but are in high industry demand; for example an engineer to teach robotics; a diesel mechanic for a Heavy Truck program or a dedicated support personnel prohibited from advancing their career due to the rising cost of higher education. The first Dream Keepers cohort is slated to begin Spring 2020.

Floyd is a resident of Southfield.

The information presented here was accurate as of January 1, 2020.
