Josh Barney is the Vice President of J.J. Barney Construction in Rochester. He received his bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan and his law degree from DePaul University College of Law.

He practiced corporate law in Chicago for six years before returning home to Michigan to work for his family's construction company, becoming the fourth generation to work at the 92-year-old company.

Barney also sits on the Board of Directors of numerous organizations including the Construction Association of Michigan, the United States Green Building Council—Detroit Chapter, the Boy Scouts of America Building Connections Networking Event, while also being a member of CAM's Labor Relations and Government Affairs committees. He frequently lectures at seminars for construction, legal, and business personnel and has been published in numerous legal, business, and academic publications.

Barney is a resident of Troy, where he lives with his wife and two young children. Outside of work, he enjoys hunting, fishing, golf, history, and politics.
