Having moved to the area in January of 2017, Eric Johnson has quickly become invested in the betterment of our community. Serving as pastor of King of Kings Lutheran Church, Eric leads a congregation with a reputation as "A Family of Faith on Mission for Good." King of Kings has supported a number of local initiatives under Eric's leadership, including Relay for Life, the Orion Veterans Day Memorial 5K, Orion on Deck, Community Free Meals, the Hope Hospitality Center in Pontiac.

Eric is also board chairman for Love INC of North Oakland County, a non-profit organization that serves over 370 Oakland Country families per year. Love INC connects churches, businesses, and individuals to provide a "hand up, not just a hand out" to those in poverty and on the margins in the name of Christ.

In August of 2018, Eric launched Thrive Solutions, a culture and strategic planning consulting practice dedicated to "cultivating thriving leadership for a striving world." Among his clients include Orion Township, the Orion Area Chamber of Commerce, the Friends of the Orion Township Public Library, and faith communities in both the Metro Detroit area and in Northwest Ohio.

Prior to his ministry career, Eric worked in sales, marketing, and financial services. Most recently, Eric served as a personal banker and investment representative at Fifth Third Bank, where he was recognized as a President's Circle member in 2011.

Eric holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication degree from Bowling Green State University and a Master of Divinity degree of Luther Seminary in St. Paul, MN. He is certified for congregational renewal by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and has held leadership roles within the ELCA on the local, regional, and national levels.

Eric lives in Orion Township with his wife, Laura, and their two daughters, Emma and Leah.
