Shantha Kumari Rajendran is a pioneer woman in her family as she is the first to become an engineer. She has worked for the past 15 years in automotive industry as an embedded systems engineer specializing in human machine interface and user experience. She has made many great technical contributions to her organization and has been leading her teams on several products. She has filed 10 automotive patents at U.S. Patent Office (USPTO) and recently two of her patent were approved. She is also an active patent mentor in her organization encouraging innovation. She has submitted several technical papers to the Society for Automotive Engineers (SAE) and Society for Information Displays conferences. Shantha supports several community affairs events in her organization. She has a bachelor’s degree in computer science engineering and master’s degree in management, graduating with high honors in both. She is a Stanford certified project manager and is pursuing a second graduate degree, this time from Harvard University. Shantha has a great balance between her career and family raising a 5-year-old daughter with her husband. Shantha is a fine example of a first-time immigrant STEM woman who works hard to reach her goal.
