As a second-generation Indian immigrant and mother, Kanika Ferency is dedicated to creating dialogues around diversity, equity and inclusion as well as uplifting children.

In addition to her position as the senior assistant prosecuting attorney in the Juvenile Justice Division at the Oakland County Prosecutor's Office, Ferency leads its internal equity team and works to create a culturally competent workplace. She is also a member of Project L.E.A.D. – a 10-week crime prevention curriculum that teaches children critical life skills like conflict resolution and resistance to peer pressure.

Beyond her role with the Oakland County Prosecutor's Office, Ferency is the vice president of the Michigan South Asian Bar Association.

A Rochester resident, Ferency earned her bachelor’s degree in political science from Michigan State University and her law degree from Wayne State University Law School.
