Zach Zuchowicz’s leadership is rooted in collaboration, shared accountability and a commitment to turning Oakland County’s values into meaningful action.

As the DEI and community engagement coordinator with Oakland County Parks, he works with county departments and community partners to introduce inclusive, accessible and welcoming practices into daily operations and public programming. Zuchowicz also leads the Oakland County Parks IDEA Council and the Pride of O.C. (LGBTQIA+) Employee Resource Group, creating spaces where employees collaborate, grow, and align their work with countywide goals.

Additionally, he has established no-cost programming with organizations such as Black to the Land Coalition and LGBTQ+ Outdoors to remove barriers to outdoor recreation for underrepresented communities.

Outside of parks and recreation, he is the faculty development coordinator for the Center for Excellence in Medical Education at the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine.

Zuchowicz, a Waterford native, earned his associate degree in liberal arts from Oakland Community College, as well as his bachelor’s degree in Wellness, Health Promotion and Injury Prevention and master’s degree in public health from Oakland University. Currently, he is completing his doctorate in education at Oakland University.
