Through her research in the connection between the brain, body and movement, Kathryn Rougeau investigates psychophysiological responses to promote well-being in diverse populations and exercise adherence.

As an assistant professor at Oakland University in the School of Health Sciences, she helped secure research funding and spearheaded the creation of the recreation leadership minor. Rogeau will be awarded the Oakland University Alumni Association Community Engagement Award.

Rogeau also serves as the recreation youth development director for South Oakland County Soccer as well as a secretary and former team leader with the National Wheelchair Basketball Association.

A resident of Troy, she earned her bachelor’s degree from Oakland University and her Ph.D. and master’s degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
