Arcos Studio and Lott3Metz Crutcher

With a mantra of “Access + Equity by design,” Architect Kendal Bowman returned to Michigan with a goal of helping to develop parts of the city of Pontiac.

As a principal at Arcos Studio, in Pontiac, and a Project Architect at Lott3Metz Crutcher, in Detroit, Bowman focuses on affordability, renovating homes and producing smaller-scale developments.

An architect with 14 years of experience, he’s also worked on historical renovations and preservation of existing buildings as well as on an airport addition in Abu Dhabi.

He is committed to mentorship, serving as the president of the Detroit chapter of the National Organization of Minority Architects, which worked on Project Pipeline, a week-long summer camp that exposes middle and high school students to Architecture and other design professions. He is also a board member of the Chandler Park Academy in Harper Woods.

Bowman received bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Michigan. He lives in Farmington Hills with his wife Paula and two children,Bianca and Gabriela.
