PONTIAC, Mich. – Jamarion Hardiman, a 21-year-old resident of Pontiac, was sentenced in Sixth Circuit Court Tuesday to 2-5 years for Carrying a Concealed Weapon and Carrying a Firearm with Unlawful Intent as well as an additional 2 years served consecutively for Felony Firearm.

 

On June 3, 2025, while attending a graduation ceremony on the United Wholesale Mortgage campus, Hardiman participated in a fight and was escorted from the venue. Following the incident, Hardiman and co-defendant Deahveon Whaley retrieved firearms from their vehicle, leading to emergency calls and a response from Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies.

 

“Jamarion Hardiman made a choice to escalate the situation when he went for his gun rather than walking away after the fight,” said Prosecutor McDonald. “His actions threatened the safety of dozens of people and turned what was a celebration for graduates into a traumatic event.”

 

Hardiman’s co-defendant, Deahveon Whaley, pleaded guilty to all charges and was sentenced in March.
