PONTIAC, Mich. – Oumair Aejaz, a 41-year-old former doctor, was sentenced Tuesday to 35-60 years in Oakland County Sixth Circuit Court on 31 counts of sexual misconduct. He pled no contest to all charges in October without receiving a sentencing agreement or any promise of leniency from the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office.
“This sentence ensures Oumair Aejaz will never again harm another victim,” said Prosecutor Karen D. McDonald. “However, the damage he inflicted upon his victims will not go away with this resolution. We must continue to support them as they move forward from this trauma.”
In August 2024, Aejaz’s wife disclosed to authorities that he had been secretly recording her, their two minor children, and female relatives in their home. She also discovered recordings of individuals undressing at Goldfish Swim School in Rochester Hills.
“I applaud Judge Anderson’s sentencing decision and the Prosecutor’s efforts to hold this sick individual fully to account,” said Sheriff Michael Bouchard. “The exploitation of women and children—especially in some cases when he used his trusted position as a physician—is absolutely unconscionable. This sentence reflects the gravity of his crimes and delivers the justice these victims deserve. I also want to recognize the great work of the detectives and our computer crimes unit for the tireless and successful work in locating evidence to make this sentence possible.”
Aejaz was convicted of the following charges:
- 2 counts of First Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct
- 3 counts of Second Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct
- 4 counts of Child Sexually Abusive Commercial Activity
- 13 counts of Using a Computer to Commit a Crime
- 9 counts of Capturing/Distributing an Image of an Unclothed Person
Investigations remain ongoing into other recorded assaults that may have occurred at medical facilities in other counties, and additional charges remain possible in those jurisdictions.
