Oakland County Prosecutor Charges Waterford Man in Killing of Pontiac Man

PONTIAC, Mich. – Oakland County Prosecutor KAREN D. McDONALD has charged Anthony Louis Ward, a 41-year-old Waterford resident, with Second Degree Murder, Prohibited Person In Possession Of A Firearm, and two counts of Felony Firearm in the death of Deevon Brown.

On the morning of Nov. 15, residents in a Pontiac neighborhood reported hearing gunshots and multiple bullets entering their home. Officers later located the victim’s body under the deck of a nearby house. A subsequent investigation, including a review of video footage and Flock license plate reader data, identified the defendant as a suspect.

“My thoughts are with Deevon Brown’s loved ones as they mourn their loss,” said Prosecutor McDonald. “Thanks to the good work of law enforcement and the cooperation of witnesses, we will be able to pursue accountability in this case.”

Second Degree Murder is punishable by life or any term of years in prison. Prohibited Person In Possession Of A Firearm is punishable by up to 5 years in prison and/or a $5,000 fine. Felony Firearm is punishable by 2 years in prison, to be served consecutively to any other sentence.

Charges are accusations and individuals are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
