PONTIAC, Mich. - Oakland County Prosecutor KAREN D. McDONALD charged Jocelyn Sanroman, a 26-year-old resident of Pontiac and former Oakside Prep Academy teacher with three counts of Third Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct for a sexual relationship involving a teenaged student.

The defendant is accused of engaging in a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old male student in 2023. She allegedly told another teacher that she was having sex with the victim. That teacher subsequently informed law enforcement.

“This defendant is accused of using her position of authority to exploit a minor victim,” said Prosecutor McDonald. “These allegations represent the ultimate breach of trust placed in educators by parents and the community. As a former teacher myself, I applaud the teacher who contacted police about this situation, protecting other students from further exploitation.”

Third Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct is punishable by up to 15 years in prison.

Charges are accusations and individuals are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
