PONTIAC, Mich. - On Thursday, September 26, 2024, Kyle Robert Breitinger was arraigned in the 52-4 District Court on charges brought by the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office. The Court set bond at $50,000, with a 10% provision.

Oakland County Prosecutor KAREN D. McDONALD charged the defendant, a 37-year-old resident of Troy, with six counts of Aggravated Possession of Child Sexually Abusive Material (CSAM) on Friday, September 20, 2024. These charges stem from a tip received by the Michigan State Police from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. It is alleged that the phone number associated with the files belongs to the defendant and contained numerous explicit and graphic photos and videos of underage children.

“Any allegations involving the sexual exploitation of children are deeply troubling,” stated Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald. “My office takes these charges extremely seriously because we recognize the trauma and widespread ramifications associated with such charges. We will work hard to secure justice for the victims in this case and to protect other kids from similar offenses.”

A Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for 9:00 am on October 8, 2024, before Judge Hartig in the 52-4 District Court.

Aggravated Possession of Child Sexually Abusive Material is a felony punishable by up to 10 years imprisonment and/or a fine up to $50,000.

Charges are accusations and individuals are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
