Price Dam Tree Removal Work

Post Date:07/29/2024 2:23 PM

Tree removal work has started at the Price Dam in the City of Pontiac’s Beaudette Park today, July 29, 2024.

During a recent inspection, we discovered that the embankment north of the dam has destabilized due to a failure in the sea wall. This has caused approximately three feet of erosion, undermining the embankment's stability.

To address this issue and ensure the safety of our community, we will be removing several trees and stumps along the dam embankment. These trees pose a risk to the embankment if they were to fall. Our team of experts has assessed the situation and determined that immediate action is necessary to prevent further erosion.

The work involves removing all trees within the embankment of the dam. After the tree removal, we will work to design solutions for the embankment stabilization.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we work to ensure the safety and stability of the Price Dam embankment. For any questions regarding this project, please contact wrc@oakgov.com.
