Waterford, Mich., December 4, 2023—The Oakland County Water Resources Commissioner’s office’s National Association of Counties (NACo) award-winning library program, Water Infrastructure 101: “What You Need to Know Below and Beyond” joins Oxford Public Library to showcase the Smithsonian Institution traveling exhibition Water/Ways. The in-person event will be held at the Oxford Public Library, located at 530 Pontiac Street, on Wednesday, December 13 at 7 p.m.

Oakland County Water Resources Commissioner Jim Nash will discuss the impact of climate change, stormwater mitigation, and what his organization does to protect, educate, and elevate the importance of water. His discussion will provide a local focus on the Smithsonian Institution traveling exhibition Water/Ways’s dedication to the importance of water and the variety of ways water impacts life and society.

“I am honored to join the Oxford Public Library and the Smithsonian Institution traveling exhibition as one of the many speakers. This is a great opportunity to spread the word regarding water’s impact and importance,” said Commissioner Nash. 

The Water/Ways exhibition and discussion series will be featured at the Oxford Public Library from December 2023 to February 11, 2024. It is made possible by the Smithsonian, the Four County Community Foundation, Oxford Public Library Friends, and the Northeast Oakland Historical Society.
