Pet Wellness Clinics

Our Pet Wellness Clinics provide your pet with quick, affordable preventative care that helps keep them safe and protected. Join us to get your pet vaccinated, obtain preventative care, receive microchipping and/or purchase a dog license. Vaccinations, heartworm tests, flea prevention and dewormer are available.

Pet Wellness Clinics will be held from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. as follows:

  • May 2 - Waterford Oaks County Park
  • May 9 - Orion Oaks Dog Park, Big Meadows Pavilion
  • May 16 - Independence Oaks County Park, Pine Grove Pavilion

For pet safety, bring dogs on a short leash with a snug collar and cats in a carrier. No appointment is needed.

Paws and Play

Make new pup and human friends during Paws and Play from 5-7 p.m. July 22 at Orion Oaks Dog Park and 5-7 p.m. Aug. 26 at Red Oaks Dog Park. Enjoy open playtime and activities designed for fun, bonding and socialization.

  • • Activities, cooling stations and crafts for all
  • • Giveaways and info. tables

No registration is needed. Dogs must be licensed and on a 6-foot leash outside of the dog park.

Volunteer at the dog parks

Dog Park Ambassadors serve as onsite resources for park patrons and dog park users, reporting any issues, problems or maintenance concerns to park staff. Contact volunteer@oakgov.com for details.

During Oakland County Parks and Recreation Free Entry Day in honor of Christmas Day, visitors can enjoy free daily park entry with access to trails, dog parks, playgrounds and fishing spots at Addison Oaks County Park, Highland Oaks County Park, Independence Oaks County Park, Lyon Oaks County Park and Lyon Oaks Dog Park, Orion Oaks County park, Orion Oaks Dog Park, Red Oaks Dog Park and Rose Oaks County Park. Park hours are 30 minutes before sunrise to 30 minutes after sunset, or as posted at the park.
