Food Protection Manager Certification Course is a two day course on Tuesday, January 13 and Thursday, January 15 from 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. at the North Oakland Health Center (1200 N Telegraph Rd, Building 34E, Pontiac). Attendance is required for the duration of the class to sit for the exam. The course registration fee is $247.25 per person and is not refundable.

The certification course will discuss:

• Causes and prevention of foodborne illness
• Safe food handling, storage, preparation and service
• Proper personal hygiene practices
• Policies for reporting health issues
• Food allergen awareness
• Food safety management systems
• Cleaning and sanitizing procedures
• Emergency preparedness
• Pest control

The program satisfies the food safety manager certification requirement of the Oakland County Sanitary Code Article IV, as well as the Michigan Food Law, Act 92 of 2000.
