2025 Oakland County Parks Active Adults Events

Oakland County Parks offers many programs for Active Adults throughout the year that focus on fitness, wellness, historical education, and fun in the parks.

  • Fireside Chats, Hosted by Oakland County Parks Historian Carol Bacak-Egbo. Free historical programs held from 7-8 p.m. via Zoom 9/25, 10/21, and 11/19. Visit Oakland County Parks Events for more information.
  • Holly, History and Harmony, 5:30-8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9 at Addison Oaks County Park. Enjoy an elegant buffet prepared by Oaks Management at the Buhl Estate. Learn about the history of Addison Oaks, then listen to seasonal music from the Twelfth Night Singers. Cost: $45/person. Preregistration required. Registration opens Sept. 22. This month's topic is “Waterways, Trails, Artifacts and Wild Rice: Indigenous Connections to Our Oakland County Parks." Like anywhere in Michigan, the history of Oakland County Parks begins with the history of Indigenous People.
