Oakland County International Airport Maintenance/ARFF personnel work to ensure that compliance and safety issues are met throughout the airfield. Runway inspection, security, service to repair and maintain the airfield and airport property are just a few of the items that are addressed. Utilizing various heavy equipment, responsibilities range from repairing airfield equipment to addressing tenant needs.
The airport provides plow services for wintertime operation. Maintenance staff has received the Balchen/Post Award for their excellence in the performance of snow and ice control. Top honors in the category of Large General Aviation Airports were bestowed upon Oakland County International Airport for the 1998-99, 2000-01, 2005-06 and 2008-09 snow seasons. Honorable Mention was given for the 1981-82, 1983-84, 1985-86 and 1991-92 snow seasons.
