We also administer the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) and other employment and training programs for Oakland County Michigan Works! Agencies (MWA) under the joint policy direction of the Workforce Development Board and the Oakland County Executive.

Workforce Development is a division of the Oakland County Department of Economic Development & Community Affairs.

The WIA establishes programs to prepare adults, youth, dislocated workers, displaced homemakers and the economically disadvantaged for participation in the labor force.

This video highlights these programs, which provide job training and other services that will result in increased employment and earnings, increased educational and occupational skills, and decreased welfare dependency, thereby improving the quality of the workforce and enhancing the productivity and competitiveness of the nation.
