Waterford, Michigan -- The 2008 NO HAZ Poster Contest is currently under way. The contest is open to all fourth and fifth grade students attending school in any of the NO HAZ member communities. The 2008 deadline for poster contest entries is March 13, 2008.
Cash prizes of $100.00, $50.00, and $25.00 are awarded to the winners. In addition, the winning posters will be reproduced on promotional materials for the 2008 NO HAZ program. Each of the other fourth and fifth grade students who enter the poster contest will receive a recognition certificate.
The NO HAZ program is a partnership of eleven governments representing 17 communities which provides a safe and environmentally responsible way to dispose of household hazardous waste to more than 300,000 Oakland County residents. The program is facilitated by the Oakland County Waste Resource Management Unit.
