Mr. Pardon was from Ann Arbor, MI. He died on Okinawa, which was the last large battle of World War II. He was digging in for the night of 5/21/45 when he was killed by enemy mortar fire. He was a member of the 96th Infantry Division, U.S. Army. He left behind a widow and two young sons. His youngest son later went on to become the Manager of Oakland County Veterans Services from 1974-1998.
