Richard A. Lawrence

4/26/1945-2/16/1967, Age 21

Mr. Lawrence was from Detroit, MI.  He was a member of the 1st Battalion, 2nd Infantry, 4th Infantry Division.  He was killed by gun, small arms fire, in Vietnam.  For his action in which he was mortally wounded, he was awarded the Bronze Star medal.  He eliminated three enemy positions and evacuated other wounded personnel although wounded himself.  While attempted to aid a fallen comrade, he was mortally wounded by enemy fire.
