James Walter Lahti

1/23/1948-9/1/1968, Age 20

Mr. Lahti was from Walled Lake, MI.  He enlisted and was selected by the Army for Leadership school.  He was a 1st Lieutenant, although he was only 20 years old.  He was killed by small arms fire in Binh Long, South Vietnam and was awarded the Silver Star Medal for gallantry in action when he was killed.  His father was a WWII veteran who lost both of his legs in that war.
