Francis W. Collom

3/4/1911-2/17/1945

Mr. Collom was from Waterford, MI.  He was a Ship's Clerk 3rd Class, U.S. Navy, attached to LCS49 (a landing craft).  He was killed offshore of Luzon when his ship was sunk by shore batteries.  He left behind a wife and nine children.  She never remarried and all nine children grew up without a father.  He is buried at the Manila American Cemetery, Manila, Philippines.
